Facilitated by GTA Dr. Marty Richardson and Bobbie Arthur, the objectives of this webinar are to expand knowledge of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) Six Steps to Sustainability, increase capabilities to evaluate evidence-based and culturally-based practices to assist with sustainability, and increase awareness of connection between long-term community change and sustainability. The webinar will revolve around the Six Steps of Sustainability and each step will have questions for the participants to discuss. The questions are as follows: Build Ownership Among Stakeholders • How has your program fostered ownership among stakeholders and how is it leading to sustainability and long-term community change? • What are the challenges and solutions to building relationships? Share Results to Secure More Funding • How has your program used data results to gain more funding or resources towards sustainability of the program or prevention initiatives? • What are the challenges and solutions to using data towards these efforts? Track and Publicize Outcomes • How are you tracking outcomes and relaying that information to community, stakeholders, and partners towards sustainability? • What are the challenges and solutions to gaining data and sharing data with stakeholders? • Are your plans succeeding? Why or why not? Identify Program Champions • How has your program empowered community individuals and leaders to support and continue the prevention efforts among Native youth and community? • What are the challenges and solutions to empowering leaders and community members to sustain these activities? Invest in Capacity • Describe the culturally-based and evidence-based practices your community has in place to bring about long-term community change and sustainability. • What are the challenges and solutions to instituting and evaluating culturally-based and evidenced-based practices? Identify Diverse Resources • How has your program identified and used partners to strengthen and sustain prevention efforts? • What are the challenges and solutions to securing and facilitating partnerships and alliances?
