Traditional foods were intricately woven into the lifestyle and ceremonies of the indigenous people. With the change of times, harvesting and cooking of traditional foods have become almost non-existent in some Native communities. Traditional Foods as Medicine will explore food sovereignty and the rediscovery of Indigenous foods. We will be joined by Dana Thompson, executive director/founder of North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems. Ms. Thompson will explore food sovereignty, epigenetic memory, and trauma, somatic healing, and discuss an Indigenous food system model.
